Morning Everyone:
Another lovely morning here in New England…with the threat of thunderstorms later today.
Have any of you caught the new series, SWINGTOWN yet? It’s on at 10PM EST on NBC and reminds me so much of the “Swingin’ 70s”. The lead, Molly Parker, was recently seen in DEADWOOD which I would love to see come back as a two hour special on HBO but doubt that it’s gonna happen!
OK, here’s Cat and might I say, once again, that she looks very pretty in a metallic gray dress with pleats on top and sparkles on the bottom. Hair is up tonight and lookin pretty too.
The Top 16 dance to a kinda quirky, strange number which we find out afterwards was choreographed by Mia Michaels…no surprise there!
After introducing the “Jidges”, Cat brings out the first 3 couples:
1. Chelsea and Thayne (they danced the Quickstep which I didn’t think was that bad but the Judges weren’t too keen on it) Bottom 3
2. Katee and Joshua (they danced a smokin’ Samba) – Nothing wrong with this couple – they’ve got the whole package goin on – SAFE
3. Chelsea and Mark (who danced a hip hop number which I, and the Judges, thought was sensational – In fact, Adam said, “This is the couple to beat!) – Well, guess what, they were Correct! - SAFE
After a brief commercial break, Cat brings out the next 3 couples:
1. Kerrington and Twitch (who also danced a hip hop routine. Even though they were first up, everyone LOVED them) – We did too. SAFE
2. Courtney and Gev (they danced a Rumba that was absolutely HOT. This girl reminds me of Lacey Schwimmer…think so?) – SAFE
3. Chris and Comfort (they danced a Jazz routine. The Judges expected more from this couple and so did we.) Bottom 3
After another short commercial break, Cat called the final 2 couples to the center stage.
1. Kourtni and Matt (they danced a contempory routine based on comic book characters – not so good) – Bottom 3
2. Will and Jessica (this terrific couple danced a Disco routine that was ‘off the wall’ – did the public like it too????) Yes they did SAFE
After the break, Cat introduced a new group of dancers who call themselves QUEST and who is among them but 3 dancers from last season…Ryan – Domenic – Hawk. It was a really intricate and fast paced dance number and ‘our 3 guys’ were terrific!!!
Another commercial break and we’re back with the 3 guys and 3 girls who will….Let’s Say It Together Now…
BE DANCING FOR THEIR LIVES
1. Chelsea T. – not impressed
2. Thayne – always good in the solos
3. Comfort – good job
4. Chris – in the bottom 3 again and this time probably going home
5. Kourtni – OK….but barely
6. Matt – Also, OK…but barely
The Judges now go off stage to make a decision who the girl and guy will be going home tonight…even though most of us have already made up our minds!
Cat brings Jordin Sparks to the stage and Jordin sings her latest single from her CD called One Step At A Time. I’d LOVE to know who dresses this gal cause, once again, she looks just plain frumpy to me. She’d have looked a lot cooler in a pair of jeans or culottes and a pretty shirt. Just a thought. Anyway, she sounded terrific. Glad to hear her voice is back in full force again.
Commercial for HELLBOY 2 – Looks interesting!
OK, the Judges are back and here we go:
Nigel calls the 3 girls to the center stage – Kourtni, Chelsea, Comfort and immediately cuts CHELSEA.
He then calls the 3 guys to the center stage – Chris, Matt, Thayne and then cuts Chris (where is MARQUIS? Bring him back!!!!).
He then says to who is left, “Most of you have been in the bottom for a few weeks now and this is not good. You have to pay better attention to the story you are telling. It’s not just about dance; it’s about expression and listening and feeling the emotions. Step it up or you’ll all find yourselves going home in the next few weeks.” (or something like that)
He then says that Thayne and Comfort will now be dancing together since their partners have….left the building!
That’s it for now. Have a great weekend everyone.
Talk to you next week. Joanie
