SYTYCD – Results Show – 06/26/08

June 28, 2008

Morning Everyone:

Another lovely morning here in New England…with the threat of thunderstorms later today.

Have any of you caught the new series, SWINGTOWN yet?  It’s on at 10PM EST on NBC and reminds me so much of the “Swingin’ 70s”.  The lead, Molly Parker, was recently seen in DEADWOOD which I would love to see come back as a two hour special on HBO but doubt that it’s gonna happen!

OK, here’s Cat and might I say, once again, that she looks very pretty in a metallic gray dress with pleats on top and sparkles on the bottom. Hair is up tonight and lookin pretty too.

The Top 16 dance to a kinda quirky, strange number which we find out afterwards was choreographed by Mia Michaels…no surprise there!

After introducing the “Jidges”, Cat brings out the first 3 couples:

1.  Chelsea and Thayne (they danced the Quickstep which I didn’t think was that bad but the Judges weren’t too keen on it)   Bottom 3

2.  Katee and Joshua (they danced a smokin’ Samba) – Nothing wrong with this couple – they’ve got the whole package goin on – SAFE

3.  Chelsea and Mark (who danced a hip hop number which I, and the Judges, thought was sensational – In fact, Adam said, “This is the couple to beat!) – Well, guess what, they were Correct!  - SAFE

After a brief commercial break, Cat brings out the next 3 couples:

1.  Kerrington and Twitch (who also danced a hip hop routine.  Even though they were first up, everyone LOVED them) – We did too.  SAFE

2.  Courtney and Gev (they danced a Rumba that was absolutely HOT.  This girl reminds me of Lacey Schwimmer…think so?) – SAFE

3.  Chris and Comfort (they danced a Jazz routine.  The Judges expected more from this couple and so did we.)  Bottom 3

After another short commercial break, Cat called the final 2 couples to the center stage.

1.  Kourtni and Matt (they danced a contempory routine based on comic book characters – not so good) – Bottom 3

2.  Will and Jessica (this terrific couple danced a Disco routine that was ‘off the wall’ – did the public like it too????) Yes they did   SAFE

After the break, Cat introduced a new group of dancers who call themselves QUEST and who is among them but 3 dancers from last season…Ryan – Domenic – Hawk.  It was a really intricate and fast paced dance number and ‘our 3 guys’ were terrific!!!

Another commercial break and we’re back with the 3 guys and 3 girls who will….Let’s Say It Together Now…

BE DANCING FOR THEIR LIVES

1.  Chelsea T. – not impressed

2.  Thayne – always good in the solos

3.  Comfort – good job

4.  Chris – in the bottom 3 again and this time probably going home

5.  Kourtni – OK….but barely

6.  Matt – Also, OK…but barely

The Judges now go off stage to make a decision who the girl and guy will be going home tonight…even though most of us have already made up our minds!

Cat brings Jordin Sparks to the stage and Jordin sings her latest single from her CD called One Step At A Time.  I’d LOVE to know who dresses this gal cause, once again, she looks just plain frumpy to me.  She’d have looked a lot cooler in a pair of jeans or culottes and a pretty shirt.  Just a thought.  Anyway, she sounded terrific.  Glad to hear her voice is back in full force again.

Commercial for HELLBOY 2 – Looks interesting!

OK, the Judges are back and here we go:

Nigel calls the 3 girls to the center stage – Kourtni, Chelsea, Comfort and immediately cuts CHELSEA.

He then calls the 3 guys to the center stage – Chris, Matt, Thayne and then cuts Chris (where is MARQUIS?   Bring him back!!!!).

He then says to who is left, “Most of you have been in the bottom for a few weeks now and this is not good.  You have to pay better attention to the story you are telling.  It’s not just about dance; it’s about expression and listening and feeling the emotions.  Step it up or you’ll all find yourselves going home in the next few weeks.” (or something like that)

He then says that Thayne and Comfort will now be dancing together since their partners have….left the building!

That’s it for now.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Talk to you next week.  Joanie

SYTYCD – Top 16 Perform 06/25/08

June 26, 2008

Morning Everyone:

How’s everyone surviving all these thunderstorms we’ve been getting this week?  Although I have to admit that yesterday was beautiful in my neck of the woods.

Cat looks gorgeous in a SHORT, white lace #.  Don’t care for the hair too much tonight.  Great legs though.

Mary and Nigel are being joined by Adam Shankman (Hairspray) tonight.  He guest judged a few times last year and I found him to be very helpful with tips for the dancers.

Nigel spoke a little of the loss of the great dancer, Cyd Charisse, this past week.  He said that he danced with her many, many years ago.  She was a beautiful dancer, 5′8″ and lovely to work with.  He said that anyone wanting to dance should check out some of her movies like Silk Stockings.  She danced with both Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.

One comment:  After watching the opening number with the 16 dancers, I had to reflect on the last few seasons and I find that the talent this year doesn’t seem to run as deep as previous seasons.  That being said, the guys seem to be much more talented than the girls….Joshua, Will, Mark (and even Twitch).  I don’t see a Sabra or Lacey among the girls though.

OK, let’s get started….this week, Cat asks each of the dancers a ’secret’ about their partner.  Once again, won’t bore you with what they had to say cause it doesn’t reflect on their dancing….

1.  Kerrington and Twitch who will dance a Hip Hop routine choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon.  I think they did an excellent job.  There were some tough moves in this dance number and I loved the fact that they were so in sync.  Good Job.

Adam:  It was awesome.  Suggestions – hip hop is tough, you have to get the proper steps in order for it to be authentic but this dance has come a long way in the past few years….he went on but Nigel finally cut him off!

Nigel:  You were both brilliant.  You had spirit, energy…etc.  Did Great.

Mary:  Thinks they’ll be in the Top 10 on SYTYCD.  She wanted a little more hard hitting in the number though.  Kerrington: You kicked it up 2 notches.  Twitch: You are brilliant…at this point she does her infamous SCREAM….

2.  Courtney G. and Gev will dance a Rumba routine choreographed by Tony Meredith and his wife.  WOW!  Her outfit is soooo sexy.  It was hot.  Not enough dancing for me though.

Nigel:  Very happy with the routine.  I felt the passion this week.

Mary:  Thought it was great.  Beautiful routine.  HOT!

Adam:  It’s exciting to watch the both of you.  Gev – you are a strong dude.  Future….Gev, watch your hands.  Courtney, get the arabesque attitude.

3.  Comfort and Chris will do a Jazz routine choreographed by Tyce.  This is a great routine but I think they came up short..  Better than last week but they didn’t ’sell me’.

Nigel:  Don’t know…expected more.  Not enough power in the routine.  Chris, you’re too soft.  Comfort, you were there.  Unfortunately,

Mary:  I felt the same way.  It should have been more animalistic.

Adam:  This was quite a challenge to do this performance.  You were 1/2 there and 1/2 not.  You have to FEEL the music.  You did good though.

4.  Jessica and Will will tackle a Disco routine choreographed by a new choreographer for us this week, named Danisa (?) – she choreographed Cher’s numbers in her current show in Vegas! – This routine was just sheer PERFECTION for me.  And…I loved the ending.  Great.

Nigel:  You danced it well.  Noticed a few ‘bloopers’ but you carried it off….it was good.

Mary:  This was a difficult routine to me and you nailed it. You were both ‘disco machines’!

Adam:  You were fantastic.  It was difficult.  Jessica:  YOU are a great dancer and don’t ever doubt yourself or think that your partner is ‘carrying’ you in these routines.  You hold your own, girlfriend!

Will: YOU are sooo good.

5.  Kourtni L. and Matt will dance a Contemporary routine choreographed by Sonja (another first time choreographer).  It was cute. Not great though.

Nigel: You have your own style.  It was quirky, difficult steps.  Dancers will understand it. I doubt if the public will though.

Mary:  Something weird for sale here and I’m Buyin’ It!  Great.

Adam:  Matt…get rid of that ninja hat dude.  That’s just plain weird.

Your bodies are extraordinary.  Not crazy about the outfits!  Matt – you gotta let loose and show more expression.

6.  Chelsea and Thayne will dance a Quickstep routine choreographed by Heather Smith. – This was very authentic to me.  A classic Quickstep with some wicked cool moves. – Awesome.

Nigel:  A little too bouncy for me.  Your personalities reminded me of someone putting bandaids on your mouths to keep you smiling.  I’d get my solos ready if I were you.

Mary:  How difficult is this?  You have to learn this routine in 5 and 1/2 hours!  You fell short tonight.

Adam:  You are both great dancers but you don’t look comfortable in your element.  You GOTTA make it work.

7.  Chelsea H. and Mark will dance a Hip Hop routine choreographed by Napolean and Tabitha.  -  I WANTED MORE – WOW!  Best of the night.

Nigel:  You were excellent – great couple. Chelsea: you had passion galore.  Mark – LUVED the manipulation.

Mary:  LUVED IT!  It was a great story and Nap and Tab choreographed for you.  So many couples are struggling nowadays with the work days they have to put in.  I felt every step.  (this was danced to Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love).

Adam:  He stands up and SCREAMS – AWESOME – You have explored the miracle of hip hop.  You put life into it.  YOU are the couple to beat.

8.  Katee and Joshua will dance a Samba choreographed by Tony and his wife.  (Katee reminds me of Kristi Yamaguchi because of her whole attitude…nice girl).  WOW!  My FAVES did it again.  How good was that?  AND…LOVED the outfits!

Nigel:  Great routine.  Just don’t over exaggerate.  Joshua – YOU have a natural rhythm that astounds me each week.  Katee – your outfit was HOT but Joshua…look at those trousers!  Look at those buns!  Did you get those buns from Dad?  (they pan up to the audience and there’s dad who stands up and shows his buns!) – You two have great chemistry.

Mary:  This number was HOT! She does her Hot Tamale Train bit.

Adam:  SMOKIN’!!!!!!

So there you have the dances for this week.

Who do I think will be in the Bottom 3?????

Comfort and Chris – Kourtni and Matt – Chelsea and Thayne

Who do I think goes home this week????   Chris (who should have gone home last week and NOT Marquis) and Chelsea

JORDIN SPARKS will perform tomorrow night!

Talk to you tomorrow….Joanie

SYTYCD – Results – 06-19-08

June 20, 2008

Morning Everyone:

Before I start the Results Review, I just wanted to say that I JUST saw John Travolta and Uma Thurman doing their ‘twist’ in Pulp Fiction.  It still gives me chills to watch Travolta dance!!!

OK, Cat looked lovely tonight in a layered sage dress.  Very pretty.  She had the hair straight too.  It must be curly one night; straight the next!

I have to say that she also reminds me of Paula in her caring for the dancers.  She’s always hugging them and giving them words of support.

The Top 18 Dancers danced to a song called ELEVATOR by Timbaland. Shane Sparks choreographed it.  I’m surprised he had time considering that he is a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV!!!

Cat jumps right in and brings out the first 3 Couples:

1.  Katee and Joshua – SAFE (natch!)

2.  Kerrington and Twitch – SAFE (again, natch!)

3.  Chelsea and Thayne – Bottom 3 (thought so)

She then brings out the next 3 Couples:

1.  Chelsea and Mark – SAFE

2.  Matt and Kourtni – SAFE

3.  Will and Jessica – SAFE (luv him; not her so much)

The last 3 couples come to the stage now.  2 of the 3 will be in the B3.

1.  Susie and Marquis – Bottom 3 (luv him; not her)

2.  Courtney and Gev – SAFE (surpise)

3.  Chris and Comfort – Bottom 3 (not so much a surprise)

The special gues dancer tonight was in Season One of the show.  I didn’t quite catch his name so I’m gonna say:  Timio Nunez???

Anyway, he danced one of those Jose Greco dances and boy was he good…and I don’t even want to get into how HANDSOME he is!

OK, let’s see all six dancers – DANCING FOR THEIR LIVES!!

1.  Chelsea T. – OK

2.  Thayne – Nice jumps

3.  Susie – don’t think so

4.  Marquis – WOW can he do the splits

5.  Comfort – YES, keep her

6.  Chris – Love him but think he’s gonna go home

Results for this week:  Girl going home is:  Susie (the Miami salsa girl)

Boy going home is:  Marquis (big surprise here..thought they’d have Chris go home but maybe they kept him cause they’ve been kinda mean to him and they’ll let him stay another week to see what he’s got!)

OK everybody have a great weekend and we’ll talk next week.

SYTYCD – Top 9 Couples – 06/18/08

June 19, 2008

Goodaye Everyone:

Well the Boston Celtics ‘crushed’ the Lakers the other night to win their first NBA Championship in 22 years!  It will be their ‘17′ championship.  Red would be proud!!!

OK, let’s get to the dancing…..

Cat Deeley looked beautiful again tonight.  Last season I wasn’t so much ‘into’ her but this year I find that she is very sweet and is genuinely rooting for all the contestants.  She had a ‘black number’ on with a short skirt with puffy stuff around the hem.

Cat asked Mia what she thought so far about this season’s dancers.

Mia said they are all ‘banoodles?! which means crazy (which is a good thing….)

OK, the ‘filler’ tonight will be to ask each dancer what he/she thinks is the best asset of their partner and then the worst….I will not go into each response.  Afterall, we’re interested in the dances…right?

1.  Thayne and Chelsea - Not sure what they danced to.  They have a lot of personality but they didn’t seem to be doing much with this dance though.

Mia:  Great concept – no execution.  No power.

Mary:  Didn’t work for me.  No chemistry.

Nigel:  I agree with both of you.  It wasn’t good.  And the costumes were awful…not your fault though.  There was no strength to it.  Thayne, you were supposed to be a KING and you showed little or no power over Chelsea.  Sorry.

2.  Chelsea H. and Mark – they will dance an Argentine Tango choreographed by Alex DaSilva.  This is a super sexy routine.  Luv Mark’s jacket and his face looks so much like John Barrymore (Drew’s grandad who was called “The Profile”).  Thought they did a good job.

Mia:  I am in love with you two.  You were fantastic.  You have beauty and quirkiness going for you.

Mary:  I liked EVERYTHING about it!

Nigel:  You really let us feel the sex and tension of the dance.  Chelsea, I need a little more fire from you.

3.  Jessica and Will will perform a hip hop routine.  This is a very good routine.  They are both in perfect sync with each other.  Love WILL!

Mia:  The choreography was great.  Jessica did the steps but it was like you weren’t even there.  I had my eyes on Will the whole time.  It must be hard to work with such a powerful partner. Will – you’re genius!

Mary:  I agree with Mia.  Jessica – you’re not quite there yet.  Will – you were awesome.

Nigel:  Well I diagree with you girls on Jessica.  I thought you did a great job Jessica.  And..what can I say about Will…TOP 4 WILL!

4.  Kourtni and Matt will dance a Foxtrot choreographed by Jean Marc.

The song is:  A Foggy Day by Michael Bubble.  Great steps.  Smooth.  A good couple to watch.  Excellent.

Mia:  Very old Hollywood elegance.  Matt – you were fantastic.  Your personality came out tonight.  Kourtni – the only time you showed any strength was when your leg was in the air.  You have to work on it and you need to be stronger.

Mary:  I have a mixed bag feeling about this routine.  I expected a lot from you two.  I wanted to see the footwork closer together.

Nigel:  I was not disappointed.  Matt – you have to be strong to lift Kourtni.  But you need to work on your arms.  They’re flailing around which doesn’t make you look strong.  I thought it was a little fake performance.  You both need to learn proper facial expressions.

5.  Courtney and Gev will dance a Contemporary routine choreographed by Mandy Moore.  It was just OK for me…didn’t feel it!

Mia:  Courtney you were good but I want more.  Gev – I’m proud of you.

Mary:  Loved it….I’m screaming! Great chemistry between the 2 of you.

Nigel: Sorry, I didn’t believe any of the emotion between the two of you.

6.  Katee and Joshua (my ‘fave’ couple from last week) will dance a Broadway routine (I LOVE these) choreographed by Tyce.  It is from GODSPELL.  I couldn’t stop watching them….they were the BEST so far for me.  WOW!

Nigel:  Jumped out of his seat screaming YES now that’s entertainment.  You have a contemporary dancer and a popper getting together to do a broadway routine.  THIS is what this show is all about.  LOVED IT and think the two of you are insanely talented!

Mary:  You oughta come with a warranty!  Joshua you have reached the ‘tra la la’ part of my heart!

Mia:  It was amazing!

7.  Susie and Marquis will dance a Salsa routine choreorgraphed by Alex.  This is a fast routine.  He’s on point…she, not so much. He’ll move on – Susie – Bottom 3.

Mia:  Not crazy about this performance.  It was over exagerrated.

Mary:  Not quite working for me.

Nigel:  Should have been terrific for you Susie but it wasn’t.  Sorry.

8.  Kerrington and Twitch (my 2nd fave couple) – will dance a Viennese Waltz (this should be different).  It doesn’t look much like a waltz to me.  More like a contemporary number.  Not to say it’s not good.  They’re both terrific.  I was expecting more waltzing!

Mia:  Nice routine however Kerrington – you didn’t need to smile the whole time.  It was ‘glossy’ for me.  Twitch – you stepped up .

Mary:  “Touched By An Angel” Kerrington, you are a vision.  I felt this whole routine. Twitch – you are insane!

Nigel:  That was like a French Canadian Viennese Waltz!  The both of you felt the emotion that Jean Marc put into this routine.  You felt the music together.

9.  Chris and Comfort will dance a Krump routine (already I’m not liking this!) -OK, thought so.  I’m not a ‘Krump’ kinda person.  It was just OK for me.

Mia:  Comfort – I like you.  Chris – You worked really hard on this routine.

Mary:  Comfort – you could have hit it harder.  Chris – Respectable

You both started to fade towards the end though.

Nigel:  Krump is a tough, hard down and dirty type of dance.  Chris – you’re not a krumper.  You gotta be more like the “Hulk”!  Comfort – I wanted more from you.

OK, there you have it  -  the Top 9 Couples have danced.  Who will go home tomorrow night?  Who will be in the Bottom 3????

Let’s see – if I could venture a ‘guess’, I would say:

Courtney and Gev (couple #5)

Susie and Marquis (couple #7)

Chris and Comfort (couple #9)

I was also not so crazy about Thayne and Chelsea (couple #1)

We’ll see tonight when 6 will DANCE FOR THEIR LIVES!!!!

Talk to you later….I’ve gotta go check out the ‘rolling rally’ in Boston on TV – with all the Celtics on the duck boats!!!

Results – So You Think You Can Dance – 06/12/08

June 13, 2008

Hi Everyone:

It’s a gorgeous day in New England.  I feel so bad for the people in the midwest who are dealing with floods and tornadoes.  You never really recover from a catastrophe like that.

I will make this a short review as I didn’t watch the whole show…I DID watch the dancing, just didn’t bother with the ‘fillers’!  I was watching the Lakers/Celtics game.

First of all the Top 20 did a Wade Robson choreographed that had Nigel tied up and placed on a chair (as well as gagged) in the middle of the group.   Very clever number.  Love Wade’s work!!!

OK, Cat, who looked beautiful in a mauve(?) colored, layered, short fluffy number last night, as well as her hair style.  She still looked kinda tired though.

She called up 3 couples right away:

1.  Kerrington and Twitch

2.  Chelsea and Thayne

3.  Chelsea and Mark

After a quick review of their dances from the night before, all 3 were told they were SAFE and would dance for another week!

There may have been stuff in between but I didn’t catch it….

Cat then called up 4 couples.

1.  Matt and Courtney

2.  Susie and Marquis

3.  Comfort and Chris

4.  Rayden and Jaime

Same scenario….watch recaps and then told 2 are safe and 2 are in th Bottom 3!!!!  Those 2 in the bottom 3 are:

Matt and Courtney

Rayden and Jaime

More filler –  Celtics are getting killed by the Lakers.  It’s hard to watch!

Cat calls up the last 3 couples:

1.  Katee and Joshua (my faves)

2.  Jessica and Will

3.  Courtney and Gev

Of these 3 only 1 couple will be in the Bottom 3 and that couple is:

Jessica and Will….what?  Are the fans out of their minds?  This couple was awesome.  It SHOULD have been Courtney and Gev…go figure.

OK, by now you know what happens next – Each person will DANCE FOR THEIR LIVES (I’ve missed that so much!).

KourtneyLind – Good routine – she’ll stay

Matt – A little shaky but talented – keep him

Rayden – Don’t care for her – think she’ll go

Jaime – sweet kid but not as talented as others – think he’ll go

Jessica – Not that great but I’d keep her for another week

Will – OMG….YES!!!  This kid is wonderful.

OK – Girl going home tonight is:  Rayden (or however you call her)

And the Boy going home is:  Jaime

No surprises with who went home just hope that next week the fans won’t lose their minds and put a couple like Katee and Joshua in the B3!!!

Have a great weekend. – I’m naturally rooting for the Celtics to be the NBA Champs!  – By the way, they came back in the 4th to win 97-91!

Jack Nicholson (as well as other celebrities) were not happy campers.

Ben Affleck and Donnie Wahlberg were though!!!

So You Think You Can Dance 06/11/08

June 12, 2008

Hi:

Well last night we were down to the ‘top 20′.  For the first half of the season, we will have the couples dancing together.  Once they get to know each other, the producers will then split them up.  I believe we then go to choosing people out of a hat!  Different partners each week.  That’s what I like about this show….

Cat Deeley looks very nice tonight.  I like the short, gold metallic like dress.  I do believe she could use a shot of botox around the eyes though.  It would take 10 years away!

OK, Judges are Nigel, Mary (our Hot Tamale Queen) and Dan.

First up is Jaime and Rayden (the ballet dancer) – They will dance a ’swing’ routine – I wasn’t too thrilled with them.  I think they’re a little weak for this type of competition.  I don’t see them going far.

Nigel: Napoleon and Tabitha did the choreography.  Will it be memorable?  Not likely.

Mary:  Screaming….Good Job…you’re like cotton candy.

Dan:  Note quite there yet.  First up and there was no funk. (liked the music though)

2.  Susie and Marquis – they will dance a smooth waltz.  It didn’t rock me even though I liked the song.

Nigel:  OK, lift was shaky. Marquis your technique was spot on.

Susie:  you have to do more than salsa.

Mary:  This was a very hard routine for first one of the season.  You have to be very slowww and controlled.  Thought it was great.

Dan:  Sexy, romantic, smooth – great.

3.  Kourtney and Matt will do a Jazz Routine to Tainted Love.  Like the black leather outfits.  I like this couple.  They’ve got personality and a lot of energy.  The routine told a story too.

Nigel:  Fun routine – Matt: I need more personality from you.  Good job though.

Mary:  Did a great job.  You made it look easy.

Dan:  Great choreography, concept.  So So performance though.

It should have been better.

4.  Chelsea and Thayne will do a Cha Cha Routine (Tony Meredith choreographed).  Celia Cruz #.  Very talented couple.  Nice moves.

Nigel:  Thayne You’re going to have a problem containing Chelsea.  Did you do it tonight…YES.  Give me more footwork.

Mary:  You belong on the Hot Tamale Train.  Chelsea is hot; Thayne is great.

Dan:  Chelsea is oh so sexy.  You own the stage!

5.  Chelsea H. and Mark (the hi jumper) – will dance a contemporary routine which will be choreographed by Mia Michaels.  Her concept is: What would Tim Burton’s (the director) wedding be like?”  Oh boy, I dunno.  Chelsea had this big puffy chiffon skirt on and you couldn’t see many of her steps.  I’m not sure if I liked this number Mia….

Nigel:  Mia is full of quirkiness.  Mark and Chelsea did an excellent job

Mary:  Mark you are unique.  Chelsea you are like an angel.  Effortless

Dan:  It was tweaked, freaked, amazing!

6.  Twitch and Kerrington will dance a Broadway routine to Too Darn Hot!  They did a good job.  Both had terrific moves in this routine.

Nigel:  This pair are great.  Excellent.  You felt it.

Mary:  Get that sprinkler system ready cause you too are HOTT.

Dan:  Kerrington, you were terrific.  Twitch, You are not the traditional Broadway dancer but, who cares, you’re both great!

7.  Comfort and Chris will dance a Jive Routine.  Like him; not her so much.  He’s got energy and personality.

Nigel:  You were smoldering.  Chris – much better routine.

Mary:  Comfort – OH YEAH!  Chris – you’re great

Dan:  Chris – Wonderful job.  I think you will find chemistry together.

8.  Katee and Joshua will dance a Contemporary routine.  The premise is that you are a couple and he has just found out that he has to go off to war.  Song:  No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown.

THIS is my favorite couple.  As you recall, Katee was the girl who said that if she didn’t make it thru this year, she would not try again.  Her roommate was Natalie – there was only one spot left and they gave it to Katee which I had doubts about.  NO MORE DOUBTS – I thought they were so good together.  Joshua has wonderful soft moves for a hip hop dancer.  I can’t say enough about this couple.

Nigel:  Really, really good.  Katee: you had a slow start but when you got your bearings you were off and running!

Mary:  I didn’t expect this.  Tremendous – Ya got me!

Dan:  Choreography, the unison, You Killed It!  Katee:  You held your own.  Joshua:  Man, you owned it!

9.  Jessica and Will (Debbie Allen’s student) will dance a Latin Routine (Tony Meredith) – Tango.  Very nice, smooth blend.

Nigel:  Helluva couple. I hated to see Debbie go but Will, I hope she’s gone for awhile because you are majestic.  Jessica:  you had a few warbles to sustain a position.

Mary:  Strong, passionate, on fire, masculine, – Will: you owned it!

(that seems to be the phrase tonight!)

Dan:  Connected with everyone.

10.  Courtney G. (Knicks’ dancer) and Gev will dance a disco routine.

to Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind and Fire.  I wasn’t really into this dance.  Thought they could have done better.  Especially with that song

Nigel:  No…didn’t feel it and I should have.

Mary:  Courtney: good job. Gev: not so much.  Tough lifts

Dan:  Enjoyed it.  But it wasn’t a good dance routine for you.

OK, so there you go.  First night out of the gates.  Who will be the bottom 3 couples?????

1.  Courtney and Gev

2.  Jaime and Rayden

3.  Chelsea H. and Mark (even though I like him)

Best couple for me was Katee and Joshua.

Tomorrow night Wade Robson will choreograph a routine for us to see.

Talk to you later.  Joanie

Jessica Alba and hubby Cash Warren welcomed a daughter, Honor Marie last Saturday.

Clint Eastwood, in Cannes for the premiere of his movie The Changeling, says that people underestimate the talent of Angie Jolie.  Because she is so beautiful, she is judged to be inferior at her work.  Clint says….on the contrary, I found her to be very intelligent, talented and a joy to work with.

IRON MAN, Robert Downey, Jr. story:  He has credited the fast food chain, Burger King, with helping him oversome his personal problems and resurrect his career.  Back in 2003, he was driving a car filled with drugs and decided to stop at a Burger King for a meal.  The food was soooo bad, it caused him to have an epiphany of where his life was going to wind up and he immediately drove to the ocean and threw al the drugs in (which, as we all know is NOT a good thing for the environment).  The actor goes on to say that a fateful moment in IRON MAN, which his character, Tony Stark, requests a cheeseburger from Burger King after being released from his captors.  It’s a reference to his own experiences…hmmmmm.  (HINT:  Watch The Hulk VERY carefully!!!!)

George Michael of WHAM! fame has nixed a movie about the rise of WHAM!  There would have to be WHAM! songs in it and George has complete control over them and he would want to have control over the script….Comeon George..I’d love to see a movie about you and Andrew!

Looks like “Madge” (Madonna) and her hubby, Guy Ritchie, have split up.  Rumor has it that Madge has hired Sir Paul’s attorney.  Time will tell.

David Cook sang the National Anthem at the Celtics/Lakers’ game last night.  He did a good job but he looks tired and the voice was a little hoarse.  These kids don’t have a clue on how hard they have to work once they reach the Top 10!  (by the way, BFF..Kimberly Caldwell was there for support….he said it was the hardest thing he’s ever done!)

Rumor has it that Paul Newman, 83, has lung cancer.  How very sad.

Mark Wahlberg and his BFF, Rhea Durham, are expecting a third child this coming September.  They have Ella, 4 and Michael, 2.  Mark has said that Rhea is his ‘future wife’…..we’ll see!
