Hi Everyone:
Wasn’t last night a lot of fun! So many jokes. It was a light, non tension show.
We started off with the Judges coming out and, once again and for the last time this season, JLo looked amazing. beautiful pinkish, short, glittery dress. (I’ll be doing this in a few short weeks when Cat Deeley comes back to So You Think You Can Dance!) Love Ryan’s bowtie! and….Randy looks like a throwback for a Prom Date of the 70s and Steve, well Steve is Steve!
Ryan tells us that 122M votes came in last night. The most of any Season Finale. In fact, 3/4s of a BILLION votes were cast all season. Unbelievable.
The Top 13 come out and sing Lady GaGa’s new song, Born This Way.
James does a ‘duet’ with Judas Priest…this is awesome for James because we inow he wanted to ‘bring metal to Idol’! It was good to see him again. Such a voice. We’ll be hearing from James, I’m sure.
Ryan came over to the Judges’s table and he proceeded to show us a lot of “Randyisms’ from the past Season…like, “In It To Win It” and he was always amazed at Steves antics.
Jacob’s turn…he does a duet with Gospel icon, Kirk Franklin and who comes walking out on the stage to join them but Gladys Knight. Great music and voices.
Casey comes out to sing and who is out there with him but….JACK BLACK…his ‘lookalike! Really funny stuff. I think they are singing, Fat Bottom Girls.
The girls come out to sing, “All The Single Ladies” and who joing them but Beyonce.
This was a cool show so far.
Ryan now goes over to Steve and shows some of his antics over the past season. Steve is a great one for throwing out the ‘cuss’ words! Randy can’t believe it and JLo just laughs.
Now…what I think was the highlight of the night….Haley sings a duet with TONY BENNETT. She looks very comfortable and confident with Tony and looks beautiful. This music is so Haley. I hope she pursues it. By the way, Tony will be celebrating his 85th birthday this year….you’d never guess.
Ryan now moves over to JLo and we show clips of her from the past Season. It’s so cool to see how many ‘fans’ who love her. Some are almost obsessed!!! And Randy is always jumping in. She’s going, “Randy, can I have just one compliment without you hoarding in?” And then you see hubby, Mark Anthony rolling his eyes….cute.
Lil Jon and TLC perform…..
Scotty is now going to have a duet with Tim McGraw. He is soooo meant for country. Whether he wins or loses toight, he’s definitely all set for his career. They sing, Live Like You’re Dying
Now we come to the part of the Finals that they do every year….the BAD auditions….funny.
Mark Anthony now takes the stage. What a great voice he has. Uh, oh…look who’s coming on to the stage now, with a group of girls. She’s backing up on the stage and has a ‘shimmy’ skirt and is moving like you wouldn’t believe…why it’s the Mrs., JLo. OMG, can she move. And she keeps up with all the dancers. Bet the guys loved it! And, if I’m not mistabken, that’s Sheila E. playing the drums….she used to play for PRINCE!
Then we have a section on, “Shocking Eliminations” – this part was hysterical….between Casey and James!….and Pia.
The Top guys come to the stage now and start singing, Tom Jones’ songs. Now these are from the 60s so there are few and far between people who remember these songs…of course, I DO. And…to top it off….who walks down the stairs but the man himself, TOM JONES! WOW, I’m excited. Tom has to be close to 70 and still looks mighty good. I remember that he was one of the first performers who would get ‘panties’ and ‘bras’ thrown on the stage for him. I used to say if I was at his concert and threw him one of my bras, I’d knock him over! Ha Ha
Ryan now reflects on the season with Scotty and Lauren. He asks them who inspired them and Lauren says her school principal and Scotty says his chorus teacher. Well they went to meet each of them and gave them both keys to a new Ford Focus and also one each for the school. Then, after thinking there wouldn’t be cars for them, Ryan tells them that they can cooose from any car that Ford makes.
Here comes Lady GaGa herself and could she be any higher in the air!! She’s unreal.
Lauren now starts to sing and her fave, Carrie Underwood comes out to sing with her. Carrie is wearing a glittery top and short white shorts! Looking….and sounding good.
Now the Top 13 are asked how they feel about Lauren and Scotty being the 2 Finalists and it is hysterical. Saying, “They’re school children”, “They can’t even drive yet” and a lot of other things.
Here’s Bono with the Edge and the star of his new Broadway production, SPIDERMAN. Wicked cool. Spiderman slides in from the ceiling to the stage…..Bono has sunk millions into this stage production. Hopefully it will be a hit.
We’re going to have the results…but first we have a surprise……
It’s Steve sitting at the piano playing his signature song, “Dream On”. The guy still has it! Excellent performance Steve.
